Observatory is one of the oldest
suburbs of Cape Town. Formally a racially mixed middle class neighbourhood,
nowadays it is a vibrant student area, with varied and exciting nightlife.
The neighbourhood is known for his cosy brightly coloured houses, built
in a traditional Victorian style.
A short walk down Milton Road will lead you to Lower Main Road, where
you will find restaurants and bars that offer plenty of varied entertainment
for students. |

THE INDEPENDENT ARMCHAIR THEATRE
(135 Lower Main Road, Observatory, Cape Town) is one of the most important
and longstanding live music venues in South Africa, providing a platform
for musicians, comedians, film festivals, plays, exhibitions and more.
THEO’S INTERNET CAFE
Open 24 hours a day.
You can also print and scan documents or use the fax. The only problem
with the internet facilities in South Africa is the connection speed,
which on average is only about 5kb a second!
